So, uh, who's gonna visit us in JAPAN?!?!?

It is official! We have orders and we're shipping out very soon (date to be determined)! We will be there for 3 years, maybe more, and we are ecstatic!!!
We will be stationed at Camp Zama. It is 25 miles southwest of Tokyo. No, I don't know a word of Japanese, but we certainly will be learning.
Check out this link with beautiful pictures of Japan.

NO WAY!!! How in the world did you get that job? We have been told (and friends have experienced) that Japan is the hardest duty place to get to. I'm sooo excited for you! What an adventure!

Awesome! What a wonderful adventure! Did you find and English speaking branch? Thank goodness for the blogging world so we will all be able to read about your adventures.

I'm so excited for you. I did a month there when I was in Jr. High in a city called Funabashi. I still keep in contact with my family there. It was a great experience. It's so beautiful. You are going to love it. And, after talking with GArth and Vickie at the family party, they are excited to come visit! Best of luck.

KONNICHIWA!!!
Me! Me! I wanna go! I wanna visit! When I land, we should find a noodle shop w/your MUSUMESAN [daughter]and GOSHUJIN [hubby]and try some kimchee, lychee, and green tea ice cream! Yum! ;b
Then, if you wanna see something cool & cultural, we should definitely find a Kabuki house [traditionally, the men play all the characters with fantastic costumes & incredibly artistic makeup or masks to set them apart], but if that's too exciting, perhaps a traditional tea ceremony in authentic attire at dawn... ASO [Ahh yes]. Life in Japan would be very interesting indeed! I feel like I know it already...
UCHI NI KAETTE MO II DESU KA?
[May I go home? :)]

Emily, I bless you & your loved ones that your minds will absorb the treasures that Japan holds for you; that the language barrier will fall like a lovely cherry blossom as you work to understand its people; and that the friendships you make in this learning time will be solid & flexible as any hearty bamboo growing in your garden...
I hope you get to visit our temple there- send me pictures & postcards!

DEWA, MATA.
[I will see you later.]
